As a cultural Initiative of the Arise Educational Scholarship Foundation, our aims and objectives is to promote cultural education that translates into culltural relevance and stable family leadership.
The Igiogbe seeks to address the prevalent knowledge gaps in the essence of 'cultural practices' upon which families are built: a support structure on which society depends.

Access to Cultural Resources

Resources of traditions and customary practices, including senior chiefs and account bearers, shall be available to locals and individuals in the diaspora for use.

Media & Seminars

Interactive content meetings including Panel Discussions, Annual Lecture Seminars would serve as vehicle for instilling the modern cultural integration themes.

Academic studies improving understanding in Benin customary practices and also Integrating our religious faith with traditions are encouraged with awarded funding.

    Family heads play a significant roles in family and community development as they serve as leaders and mediators within the family structure. They are responsible for making decisions that benefit the entire family vision, mediate for conflict resolution, as well as provide guidance and support to most family members.
  • Is the Ukhure not a fetish idol?
    The Ukhure is NOT A FETISH IDOL like many people misconstrue it to be, it is a staff of office, a symbol of authority, more like what the mase is to the members of the parliaments, essential to acknowledging the presence of family members and also spirits of departed family members present every time a family meeting is convened.
  • How can one believe in Christ and still practise culture?
    This is the norm. The Bible says one shouldnt remove the ancient landmark set by fathers. Believing in Christ shouldnt erase onces ancestry of family history, it simply changes one's spiritual and physical dispositions towards living, which is good. Thus a Benin man would always be Benin while born again but now with a mindset to be more chaste and moral.
